ULSF | Association of University Leaders For A Sustainable Future

The purpose of the ULSF Case Study Project is to develop comprehensive case studies of higher education institutions that have demonstrated a strong commitment to facing the global environmental, social and economic challenges of our time.

We are developing a detailed profile and rationale for case studies. We are working with specific colleges and universities and will be compensating some individuals to write case studies on their institutions' efforts.

For best practice case studies in past issues of ULSF's report, The Declaration, see the index of Declaration articles.

Rationale

Current literature on higher education initiatives promoting environmental stewardship and sustainability consists mainly of "best practice" descriptions. While these are crucial to the movement, providing important information and inspiration, we feel that the field of sustainability in higher education is mature enough to warrant case studies that offer more thorough elucidation and analysis of why such initiatives succeed or fail.
